Welcome to, essential touch massage, Jane Harris-Toomey is a Licensed Massage Therapist and Reiki practitioner with eight years of massage experience.  She offers Swedish Massage, Deep Tissue Massage, Reiki Energy Therapy,  Hot Stone Massage, Seated Chair Massage, Pre-natal Massage, and Infant Massage Training for new parents.  Provided is a description of each treatment;

Relaxing Swedish Massage, helps to stimulate circulation and ease muscle tension. Oil is used; plain or infused with essential oil for an aroma therapy experience to help promote healing and increase relaxation.

Deep Tissue and Trigger Point Massage, once outer skin and muscles have been relaxed, a deeper massage can be achieved on underlying musculature and connective tissue.  Pressure is applied to trigger points to help release contracted muscle tissue.  Deep tissue massage is a good remedy for chronic muscular pain and reduction of inflammation related pain caused by arthritis and tendonitis.

Reiki,  a gentle, subtle energy healing therapy.

Hot Stone Massage, smooth warmed stones are place on the body as well as used as an extension of the therapists hands throughout the massage, warming muscle tissue, a truly relaxing  experience.  This type of massage can be an effective remedy to stress, anxiety and over activity.

Seated Chair Massage, a good introduction to massage or when you don't have time for a full body massage.  During chair massage you are fully clothed and seated in a special  massage chair.  The focus is on applying pressure to the head, shoulders, neck , back and arms.

Pre-natal Massage, for new moms to be is helpful for easing back aches and swollen ankles.   The relaxing chemicals a mother's body releases during massage also flow to the baby.

Infant Massage Training, care takers of newborns learn massage techniques to help calm fussy babies. Also, infant massage helps to stimulate the nervous system to promote infant brain development and helps tp support parent-child bonding through touch.
